Dr Neil Martin
Dr Neil Martin is a Consultant Chest Physician at the Glenfield Hospital Leicester, where he runs a Respiratory Physiology Clinic, and also works as Global Medical Affairs Leader for GSK. After training at Edinburgh Medical School Dr Martin joined the Royal Navy retiring as a Surgeon Commander after 18 years of service and attaining an MSc in Sports Medicine at Bath University. Dr Neil Martin has also completed an MD in Exercise Asthma in Elite Performance Athletes.
Dr Martin's clinical research interests include Asthma, Severe Asthma, Exercise Asthma and Exercise Physiology. Dr Martin delivers sports medicine services in the Aquatics Centre at the London 2012 Olympic Games, is medical advisor to WCPP British Swimming, ASA, UK Athletics, Premiership Rugby and Football and Professional Cycling. The rest of his NHS work focuses on severe end of the asthma spectrum including the delivery of novel and emerging therapies such as bronchial thermoplasty.
